Stronger partnership between CIS scientists is an integrated part of research cooperation that TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) is contributing to. The Russian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan made an agreement between TsAGI and Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Stability of Structures named after M.T. Urazbaev, concerning the arrangement of joint Rakhmatulin International Symposium.

The decision to organize the Symposium was made at the International Conference on mechanics, earthquake engineering, machinery building and provision of seismic safety and resistance of premises and applied tasks of mechanics, in Akademgorodok, Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Russian Academy of Sciences was represented by Sergey Chernyshev, Academician and Vice‑President of the RAS; TsAGI was represented by its Director General Kirill Sypalo, Corresponding Member of the RAS. Uzbekistan was represented by D. Sc., Prof. Sirozhiddin Mirzayev, Vice-President of Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; D. Sc. Prof. Gairat Bakhadirov, Chief Scientific Secretary of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; and by D. Sc., Prof. Karim Sultanov, Director of the Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Stability of Structures named after M.T. Urazbayev of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.

‘The Symposium will include international seminars and local conferences that will consider more specific contemporary areas in general mechanics, applied mechanics, fluid mechanics, deformable solid mechanics, etc. Furthermore, a number of sessions on relevant technological development issues will be proposed, such as AI, biomechanics, wave process mechanics, high-speed transport, high-speed processes in fluids and solids, ecology, climate, atmosphere, seismology, etc,’ said Sergey Chernyshev.

Expectedly, Rakhmatulin International Symposium will be held regularly, once in two years, and will gather top Russian and CIS research organizations and universities.
