TsAGI Demonstration Center Takes Part in Russia Expo’s Corporate Museums Forum

18 April 2024

Today, a corporate museum is the environment for job orienting of the new generation and popularizing the achievements in a specific industry. This is especially relevant for aviation, which creates advanced aircraft designs and uses innovative materials and AI. Great contribution to air transport development is made by aviation science; TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) Demonstration Center can tell you more about this area. A multifunctional informational and educational platform, the Center works as a museum, an expo, and organizes trips and educational activities, creating a clear and vivid image of TsAGI and its status in the industry. Early April, the Center took part in the Forum, Corporate Museum: A Future Priority, organized under Russia Expo at VDNH.

In particular, the Forum focused on job-oriented education—today’s prerequisite to the training of skilled HR. An expert discussion considered the prospects of stronger cooperation between corporate museums and educational institutions. TsAGI and other organizations spoke on the current role of corporate museums, considering, in particular, the Staff—the new national project aimed to support professional growth of schoolchildren and students and to form networks between educational levels, from school to university. In this respect, there is an ongoing relevance for Demonstration Center’s youth career guidance projects—expos, trips, technology tours, lectures, movie views, and even the science quiz, Discover Science with TsAGI. The formats embrace a wide audience, from schoolchildren to specialists. Anyway, the expo of the Center is the starting point to get acquainted with TsAGI, with its operating mock-up of a wind tunnel—a key element of TsAGI test facilities.

‘The Demonstration Center is an open platform where schoolchildren can learn about activity areas, competencies and jobs at TsAGI. All our events aim at job orienting of children and adolescents. For primary school pupils, we use game formats; for teenagers, we offer trips and open days; so far, TsAGI has organized them for many years. The forum allowed us to communicate with colleagues from other regions, to share our achievements and evaluate their work experience. The conversation gave a rise to joint projects under the new national Staff project. After all, corporate museums do not only keep the past but also shape the future,’ said Ekaterina Grunina, Head for Corporate Culture, TsAGI.
