TsAGI Demonstration Center Opening Cosmonautics Day Expo

On April 12, TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) Demonstration Center is opening Star Track, a new expo showing historical documents.
‘Historically, TsAGI is bound to the glorious records of great space achievements by the USSR and Russia. All the events linked to space exploration were captured instantly over many years at front pages of national newspapers, postage stamps, envelopes and postcards. The expo will present these and other showpieces,’ said Ekaterina Rostovtseva, Head at TsAGI Demonstration Center.
The expo will show unique pieces of philately presented by Creative Association “Constellation of Visions” and Museums Cosmonautics Museums of Russia—such as envelopes signed by First Corps Cosmonauts, genuine newspapers from the 1960s and 1970s,
Constellation of Visions creative association and the Association of Russian Cosmonautics Museums: envelopes with authentic autographs of the cosmonauts of the First Detachment, original newspapers of the 1960-1970s, thank-you cards, etc.
A public screening of Our Gagarin newsreel will be held on April 12, which had been filmed at the 10th anniversary of the first spaceflight. The newsreel includes materials from USSR State Film and Photo Archive, the Foreign Chronicles, and the Soviet Central Television, such as documentary footage of Yuri Gagarin space flight preparation, film recordings from the Vostok-1 spacecraft, and other unique footages.
The public screening will be held at the Demonstration Center’s lecture hall on April 12, at 12.00, 14.00 and 17.00. The newsreel lasts 30 minutes.
The expo will continue through May 31, 2023.
