15 July 2022
Young scientists and specialists from TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) completed the educational program within Aerospace Faculty at the 10th International Youth Industrial Forum ‘Engineers of the Future — 2022’.
This year, the scientists organized two faculties. For the first time, Faculty of International Cooperation was presented at the Forum, organized by TsAGI employees. In addition, they also organized the traditional Aerospace Faculty with the colleagues from CIAM.
Within the educational program, specialists from different enterprises—such as Mil and Kamov, Tulamashzavod, Tula State University, the RPKB, Avtovaz, the KBP, NPO Mashinostroyeniya, ZIO-Podolsk JSC—got the basic knowledge in aerospace physics, aircraft design, engine design, experimental research, structural strength, aircraft technology and computer modeling. Totally, over 80 people completed their education at the Faculty. Apart from that, the educational program by TsAGI young employees also included a business game and classes in aircraft modeling, rocket engineering, and a master class in preparing and defending innovative projects.
The Faculty of International Cooperation trained 35 students from such countries as Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Jordan, Myanmar, Croatia, Turkey, Iraq, Tunisia, etc. The training was performed in English. The students were informed on TsAGI, its main competencies, research areas, international cooperation experience; participation in international projects, multilateral and bilateral calls for projects; and briefly described the procedure for participating in competition and for submitting a call for proposal.
The students learned the basic knowledge on aeronautics history, and on main trends of future aviation development which focus on such global challenges as ecology, digitalization, electrification, UAM, and creation of a ‘seamless’ door-to-door transportation system.
The young specialists emphasized the importance of knowing and respecting the cultural specifics of a partner country, and being interculturally competent to communicate effectively and to set business relationships. For the final competition of future transport projects presented by students, the Faculty organizers spoke on presentation skills, highlighting the main areas to consider at presenting a project for competition. The students were also actively involved into estimation of their peers’ projects.
In addition, the Forum hosted an innovative project contest under the National Scientific and Technical Conference organized by Union of Machine Builders of Russia. This year, TsAGI speakers participated as expert council members of the Conference, evaluating projects of other participants.
Within the evening program, TsAGI team organized two events—a quiz and a quest in English that dealt with development of aviation and TsAGI.
Winners of the contests and projects received valuable prizes and certificates.
Mikhail Charukhin and Yegor Sosnovsky, who participated in the educational part with team members from other enterprises, won the first place in research-and-technology project competition.
