On June 4 at TsAGI a Russian-French meeting on aerospace technology was held, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships in the field of scientific and technical cooperation. The delegation of foreign companies and research institutes working in the aviation industry was headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Russia, Mr. Jean de Gliniasty.
The visit opened with a plenary session where a welcoming speech was delivered by Director General of TsAGI Boris Alyoshin. He stressed that “being an active supporter of the Russian-French business cooperation, I am convinced of the need of holding such meetings; they are the basis for further progress in the field of aeronautical science and technology.”
The Ambassador of France to Russia Jean de Gliniasty in his report also noted the relevance of such meetings: “The development of scientific cooperation between our communities is required to improve the competitiveness of joint Russian-French enterprises in the global aviation world. And it is remarkable that one of our meetings is held here in TsAGI, the cradle of the world aviation thought.”
According to the Director of the Department of Aviation Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Andrei Boginsky, who was the speaker of the plenary session as well, tough economic challenges now faced by our countries imply strengthening of cooperation between Russia and France. “These meetings demonstrate the evident desire and will of the two countries towards mutually beneficial cooperation,” he concluded.
The program of the event, in addition to the plenary session also included a meeting of the business elite of the aviation industry and the heads of aviation enterprises in the town of Zhukovsky with the French Ambassador to Russia, and representatives of French airline companies.
