On June 14-15, 2012 the CEC Expocentre Congress Centre hosted IX International Annual Conference Renewable and Small-Scale Energy 2012. The conference was devoted to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Committee on the use of renewable energy sources of the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Organizations (RES RosSNIO Committee) and was carried out within the framework of the 21st International Exhibition Electro-2012. The event was attended by the country’s leading experts in the field of energy, including scientists of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute. The organizers of the conference were: FGUP TsAGI named after N.E. Zhukovsky, RES RosSNIO Committee, Energy Section of RIA, JSC SIC Vindek.
This year the International Forum brought together the leading representatives of energy and electrical engineering industries of Russia as well as neighbor countries: Latvia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus. The Conference was attended by scientists from 42 organizations.
Among the speakers were specialists from FGUP TsAGI, JSC SIC Vindek, ANO Atmograf, LLC Wind Energy Systems, FGBU Russian Energy Agency, CJSC Geotherm-EM, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, SRI VIESKh, ENIN, K.A. Yassawi Kazakh-Turkish University, and MNTO Inset. During two days of the conference the participants discussed the current state of legislation on renewable energy sources, current issues of development and application of a wide variety of systems that use solar, wind, small streams and low-potential earth energy as well as other sources. Fifteen reports in total were presented. On the part of TsAGI a senior research fellow of the Moscow Complex Sergey Gribkov held a presentation on wind energy equipment series Vindek. Based on the results of the conference, the organizers have released a 300-page collection of works, which included 40 articles.
According to the moderator of the event S.V. Gribkov, this scientific forum is the main conference in Russia, bringing together all specialists of this rapidly growing energy sector. “The theme of renewable and small-scale energy becomes more popular from year to year,” said S.V. Gribkov. “These issues are given considerable attention both abroad and, in recent years, in Russia.” The next X Conference “Renewable Energy Sources 2013” will take place the next year exactly on the same date at CEC Expocentre.
