The IX scientific hydroaviation conference will be held in Gelendzhik on September 7–8. The conference is one of the key events of the International exhibition “Gidroaviasalon-2012.”
The Central Aero-Hydrodynamic Institute traditionally plays the leading role in the preparation of the event. The Methodological Council of the Scientific Conference is chaired by the executive director of TsAGI, Corresponding Member of the RAS Sergey Chernyshev. The council includes respected scholars and leaders of TsAGI, G.M. Beriev TANKT and VIAM.
The Conference is an international forum that provides participants with an opportunity to exchange scientific and technical
achievements, discuss issues and identify promising research directions.
Six sections will be presented at the conference:
No. 1: General questions of seaplane aircraft use;
No. 2: Scientific basis for the creation of seaplane aircraft;
— subsection 2A: Aero-hydrodynamics, navigability, design;
— subsection 2B: Materials and processes in hydroaviation;
No. 3: Testing and certification of seaplane aircraft;
No. 4: Special equipment and systems for seaplanes;
No. 5: Environmental problems in the aviation industry; and
No. 6: Maintenance and integrated logistics support.
The conference is held in the Russian language with simultaneous translation into English for international participants.
The Methodological Council selected 105 papers for publication from 130 submitted papers. Proceedings of the conference (program, paper abstracts and a book in a two-volume collection of papers) in the Russian and English languages will be given to all registered participants of the event. It is expected that the conference will bring together about 200 scientists and specialists.
TsAGI scientists will present about 20 reports with the results of research on aviation hydrodynamics, acoustics and aerodynamics. In addition to the immediate problems of creating hydroaviation aircraft, a number of topical related issues will be discussed: The feasibility of using seaplanes in Russian regional and local air transport systems, the effectiveness of using airtankers in firefighting operations, the simulation of aircraft emergency landing on water, etc.
