TsAGI Takes Part in 29th Meeting of CEFIC Aircraft Design Workgroup

TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) participated in the Aircraft Design Workgroup of the 29th edition of Franco-Russian Economic, Financial, Industrial and Trade Council (CEFIC). The event was held via videoconferencing on September 30.
Russia was represented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rostec State Company, the NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”, the UAC, and the industry’s top enterprises.
The French aerospace industry spokespersons included heads and specialists of large companies and research centers, such as: ONERA, Airbus, Dassault Systemes, Safran, the National Centre for Space Studies (CNES), French Embassy to Russia, and French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC).
At the meeting, Sofya Blyuger (Director for International Cooperation, TsAGI) spoke on successful cooperation between the Institute and the French partners. She highlighted the joint work with ONERA research center, including bilateral projects within competitions and grants, as well as the forthcoming TsAGI-ONERA annual seminar.
‘CEFIC is the key platform aimed to develop and consolidate industrial and research ties with French partners in aeronautics area. Supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the French-Russian meeting between top organizations is a unique chance for both countries to exchange the experience and to widen the international cooperation,’ stressed Sophia Blyuger.
The parties addressed a number of policy questions, including development prospects for hydrogen aviation, the progress on implementing the agreements under the 28th CEFIC workgroup meeting, updated materials on French-Russian partnership, etc. Importantly, the meeting agenda included a discussion of the current export restrictions and their influence on development of international projects.
CEFIC is a French-Russian international coordinator, which is second in its importance only to the Russian-French Commission on Bilateral Cooperation at the level of heads of government. CEFIC includes 12 specialized workgroups focused on main cooperation areas, such as aviation, space, energetics, innovations, etc.
