New composite materials for TU-204СМ wing are subject to climatic and strength tests

Climatic and strength tests of inboard and spoiler flaps of the TU-204 aircraft are being carried out at TsAGI’s static strength laboratories.

These lift devices are made of new composite materials requiring additional confirmation of strength qualities under various operating conditions, for example, after humidification combined with different mechanical loading and heating conditions. The latter correspond to temperature and humidity levels which are likely to occur during a flight cycle

Lift devices made of new composite materials are intended for use in a new modification of the TU-204СМ aircraft. Compared to previous versions, these components feature higher reliability and better resistance to climatic exposures, as well as lower weight.
