MAKS-2021, Third Day Review: TsAGI’s Key Events

Work of TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) was marked by significant events at MAKS-2021, the 15th International Aviation and Space Salon. Witihn Novoe Pokolenie (‘New Generation’, a program by Rossotrudnichestvo), TsAGITech was attended by young delegates representing foreign research organizations and aviation enterprises. A discussion was devoted to the forthcoming work within Horizon Europe, 9th EU Framework program. Results of innovative projects’ competition were summed up, etc.

On the third day of MAKS-2021, attention was again focused on NRC’s joint exposition, which included exposition by TsAGI. In particular, the developments were seen by Vadim Medvedev (Director of the Department of Innovation and Promising Research, Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation), and by Dmitry Livanov (Rector of MIPT, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics).

The day was also marked with summing up results of Sky.tech, the 6th National competition for innovative aerospace projects, organized by TsAGI and by Russian Helicopters holding. About 40 marketable works were submitted by universities’ collective authors, scientific organizations and industry enterprises. In his opening speech to the contestants, Kirill Sypalo (Deputy Chairman of the Organization Committee; General Director, TsAGI; Corresponding Member of the RAS) highlighted the importance of the event for industry development. Six projects competed in the final; three of them were chosen as the best. Their authors were awarded with cash prizes.

According to the program, the foreign delegation of young scientists and specialists to TsAGITech included showing this innovative platform and presenting TsAGI’s main areas of activity. Within ‘Future transport: The Challenges and Possible Solutions’, the round-table talk, the young researchers discussed the prospects of aviation development. Within Smart-and-Young Knowledge Café, they also projected several start-ups, and presented their innovative ideas to create supersonic aviation of the future.

The 6th seminar of ICARe (International Cooperation in Aviation Research) project focused on elaborating plans aimed at developing cooperation under Horizon Europe, the 9th EU Framework program where TsAGI participates. WP projects will start after this final meeting. The discussion was held via video conference.

The Salon also hosted a discussion on technology transfer in Russia; TsAGI participated in it. The discussion was held in a round-table format, “Innovation ecosystem of Russia’s technology transfer”, organized by Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

TsAGI’s business program also included meetings with representatives of Rosoboronexport, Mil and Kamov, and with foreign partners from AVIATEST, a Latvian company; and AMTES, a German company.

Notably, that day was marked with signing partnership between TsAGI and NIK, aimed at development of SOLUTERM innovative company.
