MAKS-2021: TsAGI Makes Cooperation Agreements with Kazakhstan Top Aerospace Enterprises

20 July 2021

TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) had a number of summits with delegates of Kazakhstan, Russia’s partner at MAKS-2021. The events continued this April’s dialogue when TsAGI delegates had visited Kazakhstan.

The Russian-Kazakh negotiations opened with a meeting between Kirill Sypalo (Director General of TsAGI, Corresponding Member of the RAS) and Daniyar Amangildin (Chief Executive Officer of Kazakhstan Aviation Industry, one of the country’s leading aviation enterprises). TsAGI and Kazakhstan Aviation Industry signed a cooperation agreement in science and technology. The joint activities potentially include participating in Russian-Kazakh aviation projects with usage of TsAGI’s research and test facilities; working in research and development of UAVs and flight simulators.

The next point of the business agenda included negotiations with KGS Space Technologies, a Kazakhstan company. The parties discussed the possibilities of participating in joint Russian-Kazakh space programs. The meeting ended with signing a cooperation agreement between KGS Space Technologies and TsAGI.

Kirill Sypalo and Adilbek Sarsembayev (Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Kazakhstan) are to meet at the final day of MAKS-2021 business program. Their negotiations will be focused on interaction in a wide range of areas, such as aviation security, infrastructural aerodynamics, and interdisciplinary transfer of technologies.

‘Currently, partnership with Kazakhstan is among Russia’s key priorities in international cooperation. TsAGI has been actively involving in this work, finding more and more opportunities for cooperating in aerospace science and technology,’ said Kirill Sypalo.

Russia is a key foreign economic partner of Kazakhstan. The main cooperation areas include trade, mutual investments, and interaction in a number of areas, including oil-and-gas industry, transport industry, production industry, techno-military industry, as well as science and new technologies.
