TsAGI participates in ‘Engineers of the Victory’ Military Historic Project
8 June 2021
Ekaterina Rostovtseva represented TsAGI (a part of NRC “Zhukovsky Institute”) at conference ‘Historic memory on achievements of engineers of the Victory during the Great Patriotic War’. The event was held on May 20 within ‘Ot vinta!’ (‘Clear prop!’), the International Festival of Children and Youth Scientific and Technical Creativity.
At this conference, Ekaterina Rostovtseva, Head of Social Development and Corporate Culture (TsAGI), reported on the Institute’s contribution to the Great Victory.
‘During the War, the Institute continued its work; the employees made huge efforts to create technological advance for our country’s aviation industry. All that time, they did continuously the fundamental and applied research; over 13 thousand technical reports were released on it. This work by TsAGI employees did not only provide the USSR army with strategic advance in the air and on land but greatly stimulated further development of aircraft for many years afterwards,’ commented Ekaterina Rostovtseva.
The conference became the key point in Engineers of the Victory, the all-Russian military historic project. The project is aimed at keeping the historic memory about those people whose dedicated efforts enabled seamless technological progress of the Soviet industry during WWII. Within the project, archive materials were collected, along with documental records of the remarkable labor achievements by the Soviet factories, institutions, engineers, scientists and investors.
‘Ot vinta!’ (‘Clear prop!’), the International festival of children and youth scientific and technical creativity, allows schoolchildren and students to present their developments related to aviation, astronautics, rocket and ship building. The projects should be implementable into production—and this is the main criteria for participants’ elimination.
This year, the Festival was held within HeliRussia-2021, the 14th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition, which took place in Moscow, from 20 to 22 May. The exhibition was attended by over 160 companies from 13 countries. The products were presented not only by Russian participants but also by such international companies as Leonardo Helicopters, Airbus Helicopters, Robinson helicopter company, and Bell Textron.
