TsAGI strengthens partnerships with Kazakhstan enterprises
13 April 2021
The delegation of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky (part of the National Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute”), headed by Director General, Corresponding Member of the RAS Kirill Sypalo, visited flagship aerospace enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty. The purpose of the visit was to identify areas of bilateral cooperation within the frame of preparation for MAKS-2021, where Kazakhstan will be a partner country of the Russian Federation.
Negotiations with Vice-Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Azamat Batyrkozha and the Aerospace Committee (ex-KazCosmos) executives opened a series of business meetings on cooperation in aerospace. Kirill Sypalo shared TsAGI experience of participation in Russian space projects. The parties also discussed priority issues in the development of missiles for various purposes, focusing on scientific cooperation.
The next action item was a visit to Kazakhstan National Company Gharysh Sapary JSC. TsAGI leadership team identified the areas of possible cooperation after being briefed on the main Kazakhstan aerospace projects and advanced competitive technologies. Communication with the representatives of National Center of Space Research and Technology was no less fruitful.
The main subject-matter of the meeting with Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development Adilbek Sarsembayev was a wide range of issues of potential cooperation between the countries in the field of aviation, ranging from long established TsAGI scientific excellence to industrial aerodynamics and interdisciplinary technology transfer. Another urgent problem — increasing cross-border aviation safety — was touched upon in the framework of the dialogue with the executives of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry and the Republican State Enterprise (RSE) “Kazaeronavigatsia”. At the same time, the topic of UAV integration into a single airspace aroused particular interest.
In addition, the TsAGI delegation visited the leading industrial and educational organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Kazakhstan Aviation Industry LLP, the Civil Aviation Academy. Active negotiations with AES Machinery Engineering Group, TsAGI customer, should be separately noted. In the course of the negotiations, a number of fundamentally new directions and formats of work were outlined.
“Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan has a solid historical foundation. Together we work in a number of strategic areas, one of which is the aerospace industry development. I hope that the preliminary consultations held before MAKS-2021 will result in promoting scientific and industrial cooperation between the two countries,” said Kirill Sypalo, Director General of TsAGI, Corresponding Member of the RAS.
Russia is a key foreign economic partner of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main areas of cooperation include trade, mutual investments, interaction in a number of industries, including oil and gas, transport, manufacturing and military-technical sectors, science and new technologies, etc. Russia-Kazakhstan relations are distinguished by a high level of political culture. Regular summits and high-level talks of the heads of state play a leading role in strengthening the strategic partnership.
