TSAGI to present WCRC “Supersonic” at the All-Russian Science Festival NAUKA 0+

Within the framework of the festival, on October 10, one of the central online platforms in Moscow will host a presentation titled The World-Class Research Center (WCRC) “Supersonic”- a breakthrough to new speeds! The WCRC will be represented by General Director of TsAGI, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Sypalo, Scientific Director of FSUE TsAGI, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Chernyshev, Head of Aeroacoustics of TsAGI, Professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Viktor Kopyev, Head of the Department of the Moscow Aviation Institute, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Alexander Efremov. The experts will talk about the creation and development of the WCRC “Supersonic”, as well as they will answer to the participants’ questions.
“This August we had the meeting of the Council for State-Aided Creation and Development of WCRCs Performing R&D on the Priorities of Scientific and Technological Development in Russia. At the meeting, the project of the WCRC ‘Supersonic’, initiated by TsAGI in 2019 within the Science National Project, was approved. The main goal of the World-Class Research Center is to form a domestic knowledgebase on the subject of supersonic passenger aircraft (SPS),” said Kirill Sypalo, General Director of TsAGI, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
A vivid complement to this topic will come from the demonstration of a large-scale model of a supersonic business aircraft at the Expocentre Central Exhibition Complex (Moscow). In addition, a career guidance platform will operate here, where TsAGI specialists will acquaint everyone with the main areas of work of the Institute.

The All-Russian Science Festival NAUKA 0+ is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Government, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Russian Academy of Sciences. This year, for the 15th time, the festival will open its doors to everyone who is interested in science. The event will be held online and offline in 80 regions of Russia; in Moscow alone 90 festival sites will open. The NAUKA 0+ programme includes over two thousand events, including a lecture hall, laboratories, exhibitions, guided tours, scientific quests and competitions, etc.
