The IV Annual Aerospace Innovative Project Competition starts up

The IV annual Aerospace Innovative Project Competition aims to become the territory for innovation progress. It allows identifying the brightest ideas of young Russian scientists. The meeting of the contest’s Organizing Committee took place in early June in Moscow.
“The Aerospace Innovative Project Competition was initiated by TsAGI in 2016 for the first time, and four years later we managed to identify and implement a number of promising research projects,” said opening the meeting Boris Alyoshin, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Chairman of Supervisory Board of the National Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute”. “The social impact of the competition is growing. Every year a growing number of young scientists from various Russian regions participate in the event. It upgrades the status of the contest in the aviation science.”
The Organizing Committee members were first Deputy Minister of Education and Science G.V. Trubnikov; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation O.E. Bocharov; Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow region V.Khromov; the Director of the National Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute” Andrey Dutov; TsAGI Director General Krill Sypalo; CEO of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational programs Andrey Svinarenko; leadership of the United Aircraft Corporation, Russian helicopters, Innovation Promotion Fund, Skolkovo Foundation, etc.
According to the Competition schedule, the applications admission starts from June 10 and runs till July 25. This year the participants will work on such topics as “Aircraft technologies to subdue remote regions,” “Air transport infrastructure facilities,” and “Urban aviation mobility.” The project vetting and the selection of the best projects will follow. The final competition is scheduled within the framework of the business program of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2019 on August, 28. There will be a presentation of innovative ideas and rewarding of the winners.

The Annual Innovative Project Competition is held among universities, research organizations and industry players, with the potential for commercialization. The Competition is focused on the search, support and promotion of innovative projects, which are the results of successful scientific and technological research and developments. The first place winner gets a money reward of 100 thousand rubles, the second place — 75 thousand rubles, the third place — 50 thousand rubles. 118 innovative projects were applied for the Competition from 2016 till 2018. More than 50 groups from enterprises, universities, scientific organizations from 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation participated in the event.
