TsAGI Technopark presentation at Army-2018

7 September 2018

At the end of August the International Military-Technical Forum “Army-2018” hosted a discussion “Open innovations in closed industries.” The event took place on a platform of the Army-2018 “Innovation Club.” The Panel discussion participants were representatives of Skolkovo Foundation management, Kalashnikov Concern, JSC “Russia helicopters,” and the Computational Mechanics Laboratory (CompMechLab) of Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University. The Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) was introduced by the Deputy Head of TsAGI’s Prospective Development Complex and the “Technopark” project manager Dmitry Chernyshev.

At the panel session the speakers discussed an open innovation model implementation into traditionally closed industries, domestic innovation stimulation and a number of other issues. TsAGI Technopark will meet these goals. It is planned to create a concentrated ecosystem of innovations to organize applied research laboratories, develop commercially viable projects, and to open small innovative enterprises. A scientific laboratory, led by a French scientist, to investigate combustion behavior in the engines of future-technology vehicles has been operating in the TsAGI Technopark since 2017. Specialists numerically simulate turbulent combustion and examine the models by physical experiments in a high-speed combustion chamber.

In May, 2018 the TsAGI Technopark Project won the Moscow Regional Government grant with the aim of establishing a high-tech industrial park. Also, negotiations are underway with potential residents of the Technopark facility; and the allocated for the project building is under reconstruction.

The TsAGI Technopark grand opening is scheduled for November 30, 2018.
