TsAGI Director General, academician Sergey Chernyshev and the Institute staff supported the traditional regional patriotic campaign “Victory Forest.” An annual celebration took place on May 12.
The participants planted several dozen nursery plants of mountain pines and Siberian pines in one of the center streets of Zukovsky in memory of the fallen patriots during the Great Patriotic War.
“This event is a beautiful tradition, which instills in the younger generation patriotism and a love for their Motherland,” said Sergey Chernyshev. “These newly planted trees and shrubs will always remind us of those who fought for our Motherland.”
“Victory Forest” is an ecology-patriot tree-planting project in memory of the fallen patriots during World War II. The campaign was launched in 2014. Within its framework people plant trees in parks, backyards and squares, create and update memorial forests and gardens.
