Scientists of TsAGI and AVIC ARI preparing to test aircraft models

At the end of September a delegation of the aerodynamic Research Center ARI AVIC (China) visited the Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center" Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky"). The purpose of the visit was to hold talks on the implementation of a bilateral contract, as well as discussion of future prospects for cooperation.
The Project, carried out by TSAGI and AVIC ARI, is an experimental investigation of unsteady aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft models. Taking into account the professional experience of the Russian Center of Aeronautical Science in realizing such works, the test will be in the wind tunnels of the Institute, including the spin tunnel.
The current visit is another step in the cooperation between TsAGI and AVIC ARI. One of the recent examples of successful cooperation is a contract for the design of a working part with adjustable panels for the transonic wind tunnel. In the framework of this contract scientist of the Russian Institute created design documentation for the working part of the FL-3 AVIC ARI plant with an adjustable degree of wall perforation. Traditionally, at this regular scientific conference particular attention is paid to aerodynamics discussion, flight dynamics, and strength and safety flights.
AVIC Aerodynamics Research Institute (AVIC ARI) was established in 2000. The focus of activity is aviation aerodynamic design, numerical simulation and evaluation, aeroacoustics study, diagnostic instrumentation design, wind tunnel tests, etc.
