Dialogue with Europe and Asia: TsAGI at Farnborough Airshow 2016

2 August 2016

In July, the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N.E. Zhukovsky (part of the National Research Center ‘Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky‘) took part in the International Farnborough Airshow 2016 (the United Kingdom). The TsAGI delegation held a number of meetings with partners from Europe and Asia.

The experts engaged in a constructive dialogue with the British partners, including Kingston University. It was concluded that TsAGI scientists should be included as experts in the FSAMP (Flight safety & airworthiness Masters programme) international project focused on flight safety and air worthiness. Kingston University is among the key participants of the project.

The forthcoming workshop as part of the ‘Clean Sky 2’ program where TsAGI is involved among others was actively discussed. The program is focused on reduction of noxious emissions and noise exposure from air transport. The upcoming event was a matter of negotiations with the program managers and the partners from the European Commission.

The meeting with the colleagues from the Indian company HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) allowed shaping of potential areas of cooperation in aviation technology.

The International Farnborough Airshow began in 1948. This world’s largest airshow is organized in the United Kingdom biennially.
