  • Congratulations on Victory Day!
    Congratulations on Victory Day!

This year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the great Victory. This holiday unites us all, and gives us cause for pride for our great country.

The feat accomplished by the war generation is immortal. It gives us great happiness to live in the same time period with the participants and witnesses of those events; a time in which we have the opportunity to gain experience from their wisdom, fortitude and determination.

To our dear veterans: Life forced you to go through that trying ordeal. You endured hardships and you sacrificed yourselves, giving your life selflessly. At the same time, you guarded and cherished the finest human qualities, not losing faith in yourselves and your country.

    You survived!

    You won!

  • TsAGI is a leader in aerophysical measurements
TsAGI is a leader in aerophysical measurements

Measuring equipment is mostly small in size, which is its major advantage. However, despite its small size, it plays a significant role in the creation of any aircraft, be it a magnificent airliner or a maneuverable fighter or multifunctional helicopter.

The Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after N.E. Zhukovsky, TsAGI, is actively developing, improving and implementing measuring equipment. It allows developers of aerospace equipment to watch their creations in testing, and then to improve their performance for more efficient and safe operation in the real world.

  • Hundred space flights
    Hundred space flights

Interview with Valentin Ivanovich Buzuluk, the Head of Research Sector of Prospects for Aerospace Systems Development, a member of eh K.E. Tsiolkovsky Space Academy of Russia.

Fifty three years ago the first manned space flight took place. There have been many changes since that time: now spacecrafts leave from the Earth on a regular basis, many satellites support communication and broadcasts of TV signals, and space tourism has become an expensive, but quite real entertainment. Previously, the Moon was seen as a distant celestial body with Mars just a bright point on the night sky, and now we seriously consider the possibility to use these bodies for populating, mining, production and other human needs.

    Experiments with “Air Castles”

An article based on an interview with Aleksander Borisovich Ayrapetov, certified expert in aerodynamics of buildings, architectural and building structures

Just imagine: upon completion of construction, the height of the East tower of the multi-functional complex “Federation Tower” located in Moscow City, the modern business center of the city, will be 373.7 m (according to citynext.ru).

  • Research and development Moscow complex of Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (RDMC): the year was successful enough
Research and development Moscow complex of Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (RDMC): the year was successful enough

Vladimir Petrovich, how successful from an economic point of view was 2013 for the Moscow complex?

I can confidently say: the year was very successful. In comparison with the previous accounting period we increased research efforts so that the total amount of a contract for the first time exceeded half of billion rubles. And if the budget component of our research somehow decreased in comparison with 2012, by about 20 mln. rub., the indicator of the contract work amount increased from 90 up to 146 mln. rub. In total the amount significantly increased — by 10%. The number of contracts in the expiring year was more than 30 units, which is a lot.

  • Interview of the Deputy Director General of TsAGI, Head of the Aircraft Aerodynamics and Flight Dynamics Complex, Sergei Lyapunov by TsAGI News Magazine.
Interview of the Deputy Director General of TsAGI, Head of the Aircraft Aerodynamics and Flight Dynamics Complex, Sergei Lyapunov by TsAGI News Magazine.

Sergey Vladimirovich, how would you generally describe the past year?

I think that our personnel met the New Year 2014 with a sense of accomplishment. A large number of interesting projects has been completed in the past year, planned objectives have been achieved. Departments of the Complex are increasingly working in conjunction with each other, a series of cross works is being performed, and it’s very positive.

Michael Cheslavovich, what’s new in the work of the Aircraft Strength Complex in 2013?

The past year was very busy. I can say that as compared to the last year, the amount of administrative work, the number of various planning and coordination meetings, both on our internal activities and on interaction with partners, has significantly increased.
