Third Open Russian Conference on Aeroacoustics

The Third Aeroacoustics Conference will be held from September 30 to October 4, 2013, in the Zvenigorodsky Hotel (about 40 kilometers from Moscow). This Conference has been organized by TsAGI since 1962 and this is the third time that the Conference has been open to participation by scientists from abroad. The Conference brings together researchers, engineers and scientists working in the fields of aeroacoustics and aviation ecology and provides an excellent opportunity to discuss results, trends, and perspectives.

During this conference, the problems of noise abatement for aircraft and helicopters will be discussed, to ensure compliance with ICAO and EC noise regulations. Discussions will be conducted on the following topics:

  • Aircraft and helicopter ground noise, and aircraft engine acoustics;
  • Interior noise of aircraft and helicopters;
  • Aerodynamic noise sources in aviation;
  • Innovative methods in aeroacoustics;
  • Computational aeroacoustics;
  • Aviation ecology.

The discussion will touch on the tighter noise standards passed by ICAO CAEP in February 2013, and the corresponding challenges for the aviation industry.

The Zhukovsky Central Aerohydrodynamics Institute (Acoustic Department) with financial support from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and Project X-Noise EV of 7th Framework Program.

Leading scientists in aeroacoustics from Russian scientific institutes, universities and aviation corporations (TsAGI, CIAM, Andreyev Acoustics Institute, Aviadvigatel, the Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics (RAS), GosNII GA, Aeroflot, Technologiya, Sukhoi, Tupolev, Gromov Flight Research Institute, IL, TRINITI, GPI RAS, the Khristianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics SB RAS, Lomonosov MSU, МIPT, STANKIN, MAI and others) regularly participate in the Conference. Among foreign guests, the representatives from ONERA and CNRS (France), Roma Tre University (Italy), Brüel & Kjaer (Denmark) and the Antonov aviation company (Ukraine) took part in conferences and presented reports.
